YFF Event & Platform Disclaimer

1. Participation at Your Own Risk

• All activities — including but not limited to travel, physical challenges, and social gatherings — are voluntary and carry inherent risks.
• YFF is not liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, illness, or other consequences resulting from your participation.

2. Member-Hosted Event Independence

• Events hosted by members are organized independently and are not under the control or supervision of YFF.
• These organizers are not employees or official representatives of YFF.
• YFF assumes no liability for their actions, omissions, or the events they host.

3. Third-Party Services

• Many YFF events and platform interactions may involve venues, service providers, or platforms outside our control.
• YFF is not responsible for the reliability, conduct, or outcomes related to third-party vendors, travel services, or external platforms.

4. Health, Safety & Insurance

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you:

• Are medically and physically fit to participate
• Have appropriate travel, medical, and liability insurance
• Understand the risks involved in high-adrenaline or unstructured activities

5. Platform Use & Data Security

• By using the YFF platform or website, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of using any online service.
• While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to secure your data, YFF is an early-stage startup and cannot guarantee full security, uptime, or data integrity.
• We encourage strong password hygiene and discretion in sharing personal information.

6. Code of Conduct

• All participants are expected to act respectfully and responsibly.
• YFF reserves the right to remove any user from the platform or events due to disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior — at our sole discretion.

7. Media Consent

• Photos, videos, and recordings may be captured at events.
• By attending, you grant YFF the right to use such media in community or promotional materials, unless you explicitly opt out in writing prior to the event.

8. Payments & Refunds

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

• Event fees are non-refundable
• YFF does not cover external costs like lodging or transportation
• Payments only cover what is explicitly listed in the event description

9. Age Requirement

By participating in YFF events or using the platform, you confirm that you are 18 years or older, or have obtained verifiable consent from a legal guardian.

10. Legal Waiver

By joining YFF events or using our platform, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Young Founders Forum, its team, volunteers, partners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities — to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Jurisdiction & Governing Law

• This disclaimer, and all related agreements, are governed by the laws of Zurich, Switzerland.
• Any legal disputes arising from your participation in YFF activities or use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich.

12. Membership Rights & Revocation

• YFF reserves the right to freely accept, deny, or revoke membership or platform access at any time, with or without prior notice, and with or without explanation.
• This applies to all membership tiers, applicants, and active members.

13. No Guarantee of Outcomes

YFF does not guarantee any specific outcomes from your participation, including but not limited to funding, hiring, partnerships, publicity, or personal/professional success. All opportunities presented through YFF are at the participant's own discretion and risk.

14. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality

• Content shared within the YFF community — including pitches, documents, ideas, and discussions — remains the intellectual property of its original creator.
• YFF makes reasonable efforts to maintain a respectful and professional environment and encourages all members to treat shared information as confidential. By participating, you agree to respect the confidentiality of fellow members' ideas and materials.
• However, YFF is a collaborative and open community, and cannot guarantee the confidentiality or protection of shared content.
• YFF assumes no liability for any unauthorized use, disclosure, or disputes related to intellectual property shared within its events, platform, or community spaces.
• We advise members to use discretion when disclosing sensitive or proprietary information.

15. Changes to Terms

• YFF reserves the right to modify or update this disclaimer and related policies at any time.
• Continued use of the platform or participation in events after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

16. Force Majeure

YFF is not liable for any delays, cancellations, or failures in performance due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, or disruptions in digital infrastructure.
